The stars aligned just right, and Lord of Sipan was the result. We happened to have our full-Accoyo Poseidon daughter (with fawn genetics) in Virginia, at Double O Good Alpacas (home of Matrix), to deliver her cria by Royal Fawn. So, when I saw that a rare Matrix breeding was donated to the International Alpaca Odyssey in California, I bid to win! Ultima is both adorable and beautiful. Her heritage is squarely in the Snowmass lineup--her dam is a daughter of high-selling Snowmass Matrix and her sire is Snowmass Best Man, who sold to a farm in Switzerland in the 2012 Snowmass auction for a pretty penny!

Wow! This may be the best huacaya we have ever produced! His fleece is BRIGHT with beautiful popcorn bundles and high frequency crimp.
Mas Snowmas is the culmination of a series of breedings we have carefully planned over the years, with each one reaching a higher plateau of perfection. This male is now the pinnacle of all that planning and waiting. A line breed on Matrix (dam is a Matrix granddaughter, sire is a Matrix son) AND a line breed on the incredible Snowmass Quechua--sire of Matrix, Snowmass Best Man, and so many other illustrious offspring. Frankly, in terms of quality, Quechua may have bested his famous son, Matrix! So our little guy was sired by a Quechua grandson but his dam is a Best Man daughter, making Mas Snowmas a Quechua great grandson twice over on his dam's side, as well! And what makes up the rest? How about Caligula's Accoyo Poseidon and a little PPeruvian Camillio for good measure? What a fantastic mix of genetic potential!
Mas Snowmas was cria-shorn at 3 months of age, and the shearer couldn't get over how gorgeous his fleece was. His regrowth is fine and dense, with perfectly formed bundles that break into smaller bundles of bright, crimpy fleece. His coverage is excellent, and his conformation is adorable and perfect. Mas Snowmas will fit nicely in that imaginary box the judges talk about!
We are so blown away by this guy, we have repeated the breeding and Ultima is due in June, 2020!
We are looking forward to taking him to the Spring shows, and making arrangements for transportation to the larger shows. It will be fun to take him into the show ring!!
